Build three layers of light
Ambient light gives the room its general illumination. Task light supports activities such as cooking, reading or working. Accent light draws attention to a table, texture or display. A decorative pendant can contribute to the atmosphere while a separate fitting supplies practical task light.
Match colour temperature across the space
Warm-white ranges around 2700–3000K are often chosen for relaxed seating and dining. Neutral-white light around 4000K suits many practical interior tasks. Daylight around 6500K gives a cooler appearance. These are design starting points; compare a sample with your finishes before specifying a whole venue.
Many of the LED panels in this collection are 6500K. Do not order them expecting the warmer appearance of a restaurant pendant.
Use lumens to compare light output
Watts describe electrical power. Lumens describe light output. Compare both when selecting efficient lighting, and consider distribution, ceiling height and glare. A room’s exact requirement needs a lighting calculation; multiplying a floor area by an arbitrary number of fittings is not a reliable design.
Check what is included
A fitting with an E27 or GU10 holder may need a separately selected lamp. An integrated LED product includes its own light source. Confirm dimming support, drivers and control compatibility on the exact product sheet; LED does not automatically mean dimmable.
Measure twice
For a pendant, check ceiling support, diameter and the available drop. For a recessed downlight, check cut-out size, product diameter and the space behind the ceiling. For a surface fitting, check dimensions and fixing points.
Specify outdoor and bathroom lighting carefully
Match the product’s IP rating to the actual location and exposure. Bathroom zones, electrical work and protective devices should be assessed by a qualified electrician. An outdoor label alone does not establish suitability for salt air or direct water exposure.
Compare the complete price
Compare the same code and finish, including VAT, required lamps, drivers, supplier pack quantities and delivery. A lower unit price can still mean a higher project total.
